Hike the Buttonwood Trails Stay at our Inn and use our trails right out the back door, which offer outstanding views of the streams, forests, and mountains in both Merriman State Forest and the White Mountain National Forest. If you want to view the Presidentials, you can drive a quarter of a mile to the trail heads of Mt. The Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mt. Washington Valley (BBInnsMWV) are pleased to announce the annual Ghost & Goblin Trail©, Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 10:30 am to 5 pm. The self-guided tour of participating inns ... each with their own ghost stories ... will offer ticket holders a sampling of traditional treats prepared especially for Halloween. The Ghost & Goblin Trail© stretches throughout the Presidential Range of the White Mountains of NH. Featured inns and their Country Partners, several locally owned and equally fun-loving businesses, will open their doors to costumed characters, spirits in Halloween make-up, and street-clothed participants alike. Those "dressed for the occasion" will automatically receive their treats and clues. However, those in street clothes must earn their treat at every stop ... by first performing a task drawn from a bag o' tricks. Guests will also participate in the judging of each inn's entrance decorations and treats.

The Great Mystery Muddle of the White Mountains, a riddle and jumbled word contest, can test the skills of the most diligent detective. Tour inns will accompany their gastronomic goodie with a clue hidden within their tour booklet page. Properly interpret the clues and “de-jumble” the combinations, and take home the Grand prize. (Should more than one savvy sleuth unscramble the correct answer, the lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing.)  The grand prize valued at over $400 includes:
