Vintage Ski Poster
Since we opened the store in 2000, our most frequent request from customers was vintage advertising ski posters - most customers were disappointed to find that almost all of the posters were for European ski areas, and there just weren't any for New Hampshire.
Then we met (yes, at The Met) Dianne Mello who had previously worked as a professional illustrator. We jumped at the chance and commissioned her to create some original artwork based on the look of vintage European ski posters. She created North Conway Ski Girl and New Hampshire Ski Guy. Every season since, we selected another ski area and commissioned Dianne to create another new "old" poster.
This year, after nine local posters (eight ski areas plus Saco Bound), we've selected King Pine to be the 9th and final ski poster in the series. King Pine is celebrating 50 years and Purity Spring is celebrating 100 years of family traditions. We felt this was the perfect time to honor King Pine.
