Coombs is a Vice President - Investments and Senior Portfolio Manager - OMEGA Group with over two decades of experience in the investment business. He joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 1993 as a Vice President - Investments, after working for ten years as an Assistant Vice President within the Private Client Division of Merrill Lynch. John is among a growing number of investment representatives who have met the selection criteria for inclusion as a Portfolio Manager of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.'s OMEGA Program, which offers a unique professional money management program in which experienced Financial Advisors perform as portfolio managers for their clients for one all-inclusive fee.* In 2007, after satisfying the rigorous OMEGA Program requirements, John was appointed an OMEGA Senior Portfolio Manager, among only a handful of Oppenheimer Portfolio Managers to do so. Over the years, John has increasingly adopted and refined a conservative, value-oriented investment style based on distinct, carefully crafted, portfolio models, each balancing different combinations of risk and potential performance. He advises and manages client portfolios for both individuals and small corporations. His methodology requires that his clients have a long-term time horizon and need for highly disciplined asset management. Realistic and reasonable performance goals and portfolio risk assessment are key components of John's value-added service. John resides in Jackson, NH. In addition to his professional career, he is an active long distance runner and competitive cross-country skier.
