24th ANNUAL CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL! - Sunday, February 24, 2013
Make plans to join us for the 24th Annual Chocolate Festival, otherwise known as the Sweetest Day on the trails. Cross country ski, snowshoe or drive from inn-to-inn to enjoy your favorite chocolate treat. A number of participating businesses located along the trails and in North Conway will be offering chocolate treats including fondue with fresh fruit, homemade peanut butter cups, fudge, cookies of all kinds, and hot chocolate of course. Visit our website for complete details. A complimentary shuttle will begin circulating between most stops beginning at 1 pm. Avoid the crowds and SAVE when you purchase your ticket in advance. Festival Passes will be available for $30 when purchased in advance and $35 when purchased the day of the event. Tickets will be available for purchase online in December or at the Touring Center. Proceeds from this event to benefit the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation.

Weekly Guided Snowshoe Tour
Join our guided snowshoe tour which departs every Saturday at 1pm from the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring and Snowshoe Center. This is a wonderful opportunity to try a new wintersport or brush up on your snowshoeing skills. The tour will last between 1.5 and 2 hours and explore the gentle terrain of the riverside trails. Discounted snowshoe rentals are available to participants. The event pass includes the tour and full use of the entire network for the day. Cross country ski in the morning, have lunch then try snowshoeing in the afternoon! For information and reservations, please call the Touring Center at 603-356-9920.

The non-profit Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring and Snowshoe Foundation maintains over 60 km of trails offering a diverse selection of terrain from easy rolling hills to more challenging intermediate and back country trails connecting Intervale, Kearsarge and North Conway. Enjoy outstanding scenery and breathtaking views of Mt. Washington and the Saco River while skiing or snowshoeing through riverside hayfields and mountainside spruce and hemlock forests. Ski from inn to inn and plan to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or simply a stop to quench your thirst. Many trail side lodging properties offer STAY & SKI FREE plans. Ski and snowshoe rentals and lessons are available at the Touring Center.

In addition to providing groomed trails for area visitors, these trails are also used by the Eastern Slope Ski Club's after-school ski program, the Kennett High School XC Ski Team for training and regional meets, and area elementary schools for their cross country ski programs.
