This 3-hour journey will take you on some of the steepest railway tracks in the world. You will witness some of New England's most breathtaking scenery - from the alpine forest and unique tundra region above treeline to the rugged terrain of the Presidential Range. Now including a stop at the summit and free admission to the Observatory Museum! Choose your motive power: nostalgic steam-powered locomotives - or the efficient new biodiesel trains. Directions:

From North Conway, follow Rt. 302 West through scenic Crawford Notch. Turn right onto Base Road just after passing The Mount Washington Hotel. The Cog Railway's Marshfield Base Station is located at the end of this six mile-long road. ALL ABOARD!
