It's Christmas in the Village at the Remick Museum and Farm on Saturday, December 10th from 1 to 4pm. Come out and celebrate the sounds and sights of the holiday season!

General Information:

"Explore over 200 years of self-sustained living, as we preserve the agricultural way of life in New Hampshire."

The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm is located in Tamworth Village, New Hampshire, a charming New England village located in north-central New Hampshire. Our Museum and Farm is located between the White Mountains and the Lakes Region and is easily accessible from Routes 16 and 25.

Here you will experience the agricultural way of life in New Hampshire, from 1790 to the present. You can see a working farm with sheep, goats, cows, chickens, horses, pigs and more. Take a leisurely 6/10 mile hike on the Binsack Trail or horse-drawn wagon ride, pulled by our Belgian horses. Tour our gardens, farm grounds and historic buildings. In the fall and winter, enjoy the foliage or the winter landscape by horse-drawn sleigh ride!

Inside the Museum Farm House, you can tour the living quarters of Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick and his wife, Marion Ella Miles Remick. In the ‘Hands-on History Room' children can play with toys, read children's books or watch videos all about farm life. In the ‘Changing Exhibit Room' a new exhibit is featured bi-monthly. This April the Remick Museum debut's their newest exhibit, "The Remick Country Store," featuring beautifully preserved country store relics from the 1800's.

Visit the Captain Enoch Remick House, the boyhood home of Dr. Remick in the summer time. The last two generations of the Remick family were country doctors. Dr. Edwin Remick (father) and Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick (son), pictured above, served the rural community where they were born and raised. Together they provided 99 years of continuous medical care to Tamworth and surrounding towns. The Captain Enoch Remick House contains the antique furnishings of the country doctors, which include an antique toy collection and 19th century murals attributed to the American painter, John Avery. The original medical office and medicine room, used by both doctors, are preserved on the first floor.

The Remick family settled in Tamworth over 200 years ago, and six generations of the same family worked the farm. Each generation prospered, and was active in the town's history. Before his death in 1993, Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick created a foundation to preserve his home, farm and family history in a way that the public could enjoy. The Remick family's 200 year history in Tamworth gives us all a glimpse into how people worked and played in this historic landscape.

With plenty of events, workshops and activities for the whole family year-round, the Remick Museum is a fun and affordable family trip!
