General Information:
"Explore over 200 years of self-sustained living, as we preserve the agricultural way of life in New Hampshire." The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm is located in Tamworth Village, New Hampshire, a charming New England village located in north-central New Hampshire. Our Museum and Farm is located between the White Mountains and the Lakes Region and is easily accessible from Routes 16 and 25. Inside the Museum Farm House, you can tour the living quarters of Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick and his wife, Marion Ella Miles Remick. In the ‘Hands-on History Room' children can play with toys, read children's books or watch videos all about farm life. In the ‘Changing Exhibit Room' a new exhibit is featured bi-monthly. This April the Remick Museum debut's their newest exhibit, "The Remick Country Store," featuring beautifully preserved country store relics from the 1800's.
The Remick family settled in Tamworth over 200 years ago, and six generations of the same family worked the farm. Each generation prospered, and was active in the town's history. Before his death in 1993, Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick created a foundation to preserve his home, farm and family history in a way that the public could enjoy. The Remick family's 200 year history in Tamworth gives us all a glimpse into how people worked and played in this historic landscape.
