Province Lake Golf Course
Welcome to Province Lake Golf Club
Province Lake Golf is a beautiful blend of the best of classic golf with outstanding modern design. The traditional and the new have been combined to create a wonderful playing experience for today's golfers. Along the way you'll also be treated to spectacular views of the lake, and occasionally you'll spot the wildlife that make their home in the area.
The front nine, built in 1918, was designed by Lawrence Van Etten, who laid out a number of courses on the East Coast, including the Deal Country Club in New Jersey and the original Wykagyl Course in New Rochelle, N.Y. In 1988, a second nine was built, which was designed by renowned East Coast architect Brian Silva. Silva's work includes the Captains Course at Cape Cod National in Brewster, MA, Black Creek Club, in Chattanooga, TN, Shaker Hills in Harvard, MA, and Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, MA.
Since 1988, the front nine has been renovated bringing the greens up to USGA standards. On-going improvements include a state of the art irrigation system, additional drainage and reworking many tee boxes. In 2011 we lengthened the 13th hole. In 2012, we added a fifth set of tees so that golfers with any handicap or skill level can have an enjoyable and challenging round. There is also a sixth set of tees further forward for juniors and children. The course can truly meet any skill level successfully.

History and Anecdotes: The Province Lake Golf Course was designed and built in two segments, many years apart. The front nine was designed for the Emery family by Lawrence Van Etten and was built in the early 1900’s. It is longer and more open than the back nine. The back nine was designed by Brian Silva and opened in 1988. It makes good use of the surrounding woods and demands accuracy.
Ranked #1 in New England for Women's golf by Golf Digest since 2005. Province Lake Golf is an affordable and family friendly golf facility located on the border between Maine and New Hampshire. Province Lake Golf is an 18 hole -- 6301 yard Course with 5 sets of tees from Championship through Junior. The Course sits next to crystal clear Province Lake and is surrounded by wooded hills.
