Little Shop of Horrors is a wildly popular musical spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies, a down-and-out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon, the plant he names “Audrey II” grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination!

The show is directed by Barbara Spofford, who last directed The Miracle Worker and Steel Magnolias for Arts in Motion. "This will be my first experience in the state of the art Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg", said Spofford. Little Shop of Horrors is choreographed by Nancy Greenblatt Shappell, with Musical Direction by Ben McNaboe. The cast features many local favorites including Chris Madura as Seymour, Taylor Hill as Audrey and Craig Holden as Mushnick. Keith Force is the Audrey II puppeteer, with Eric Andrews as the voice.

Don’t worry: they can match them. The family tree might be auspicious, but this new band trades on talent, not genealogy. It’s not about rock history: it’s about the here-and-now.  Right now, the buzz is all about Royal Southern Brotherhood’s debut album, bottled with producer Jim Gaines in Louisiana, and we wanted to make sure you didn't miss out on their great sound! Mr. Mann is an alum of FA and made this horror/comedy film with other FA staff and alum in Lovell last summer. Performing a great blend of alternative rock, and folk music, Junco came about during the summer of 2011, when singer/songwriter and FA alumni, Bobby Sheehan decided to bring together a group of musicians to contribute to and help solidify some songs that he had been working on. Bobby found this assistance in drummer Jon Dana, guitarist Seth Eastman, bassist Kelsey Sheehan, and oboist Dan Stackhouse.  The Junco genre blends a diverse collection of musical styles. While rooted in the sounds of alternative rock, strong influences of folk and jazz are also present.  The band has recorded their first album and will be releasing it the night of this show!
