NT Live Presents: Timon of Athens

November 1

NT Live Presents: Timon of Athens

11/1/2012

2:00 PM at the leura hill eastman performing arts center

Simon Russell Beale takes the title role in Shakespeare’s fable of consumption, debt and ruin, written in collaboration with Thomas Middleton. Wealthy friend to the rich and powerful, patron of the arts, ostentatious host, Timon of Athens is surrounded by free-loaders. When he calls upon his associates, instead of offering help, they hang him out to dry. After a final, vengeful banquet, Timon withdraws to a literal and emotional wasteland. Simon Russell Beale has been described by the Independent as “the greatest stage actor of his generation.”  The National Theatre of London performances are sent to us live via satellite and shown live on our screen.  Today's performance will only be shown at 2:00 pm, please check the website for encore performances of NT Live programming in December. Tickets: $18-Adults, $15-Seniors and $10-Students

It's Not About the Hike

November 5

It's Not About the Hike is a presentation that will bring you into your heart, lift your spirits, and inspire you to climb that next mountain in your life. This hour-long program highlights the journey of Nancy Sporborg and Pat Piper, two ordinary women who went on an extraordinary journey over the mountain summits and into their hearts. The presentation is NOT about the hike; it is an inspirational and motivational program about pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zones, overcoming our fears, finding our passions and living our lives to the fullest. This talk is a multi-media presentation: · Movies · Music · Photographs. It is both humorous and touching, as the speakers share about their personal lives in a way that makes the message and learning universal. The book, It’s Not About the Hike, will be offered for sale after the presentation.
This event is sponsored by Debbie Phaneuf of ReMax Presidential and is FREE!

6:30 pm at the Theater in the Wood in Intervale

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Christopher Barrett Scholarship Fund. A teaching scholarship established in Memory of Debbie’s son, Christopher, in honor of his passion to teach and for higher education.
