Some are centered in North Conway Village, with the annual Mud Bowl, Fireworks on the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve, Strawberry Festival, and more. Others make their way from North Conway to Jackson with the Jingle Bell Chocolate Tour, Art in Bloom and Inn to Inn Cookie Festival.

The Ghoullog

Cranmore Mountain, North Conway


Enter 12 years of fear at the Ghoullog! The approximate 50 minute haunt features over 15,000 square feet of indoor space through a series of dark rooms, scary mazes and unknown places, plus an outdoor element which leads the unsuspecting through the dark woods with all of the scares and screams you've come to expect. Will you be able to make it out of the Ghoullog unharmed? *The Ghoullog is recommended for ages 10 & over. Visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather

 

Enjoy spooky family fun! We dare you to go for a ride in the Haunted Playground, featuring the Mountain Coaster, Giant Swing and Soaring Eagle Zip Line. The Coaster is a roller-coaster like ride that takes visitors on a 3,600 foot round trip ride up and down the mountain in a 2-person sled mounted on a steel track. The Giant Swing gives 4 people a breath-taking sky-ride. The Soaring Eagle Zip line fleshes out the Haunted Playground letting visitors fly 750 feet up and back down the mountain in a seated zip line. All Haunted Playground rides offer a unique night-time experience with special lighting, effects and the occasional ghost or ghoul when you least expect it. Twelve acres of farm-related fun await you at The Maize at Sherman Farm. Explore an intricate labyrinth of corn designed to confound even those with the best sense of direction. Inside the Maize, you can play Farm Scene Investigation, Barnyard Bing-oh! and Cornundrums (corny riddles to solve). Answer questions along the way; the correct answer is your passport, sending you off in the right direction! There are three phases in the Maize, one for every ability.

The Jazz Residency Initiative presents the 5th annual Fryeburg Academy Jazz Residency Capstone Concert at 7 PM, featuring world famous vocalist and educator Kim Nazarian (of New York Voices) with special appearances by Fryeburg Academy student ensembles. The evening will also include a pro set featuring Nazarian with Les Harris, Jr. (drums), John Hunter (bass), and Mark Shilansky (piano). As a member of New York Voices, Kim Nazarian has recorded eight albums and collaborated on another 13, two of which have received Grammy awards. $15-Adults, $10-Seniors (65+), $5-Students, $50-Benefactor. Medicare Annual Enrollment Period Community Meetings

United HealthCare is hosting Medicare Open Enrollment Community Meetings.

Local Agent, Ed Hollum, Authorized to offer AARP Medicare Plans, will be conducting the meetings focusing on United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plans and other parts of Medicare including PartD.

The meetings are free, open to the public, informal meetings. You can come get information, ask questions and head out. Less structured than a formal meeting where you may sit for a presentation.

There are 14 dates scheduled and all are on Wednesdays with 2 meetings. The first is from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and the second from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

M&D Playhouse

M&D Playhouse presents The Little Mermaid, Jr.  Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.

 

The Little Mermaid, Jr. is presented November 8 - 18, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM with Sunday matinees at 4:00 PM.   Saturday matinees may be added – please check our website after October 22.

The Met Opera Live in HD series presents La Marnie at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center at 1 PM. Composer Nico Muhly unveils his second new opera for the Met with this gripping reimagining of Winston Graham’s novel, set in the 1950s, about a beautiful, mysterious young woman who assumes multiple identities. Director Michael Mayer and his creative team have devised a fast-moving, cinematic world for this exhilarating story of denial and deceit, which also inspired a film by Alfred Hitchcock. Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard sings the enigmatic Marnie, and baritone Christopher Maltman is the man who pursues her—with disastrous results.
