Luis, who is passionate about helping the homeless, wears special effects makeup to alter his appearance and experience a life of homelessness himself. The NIMBY Project is an inspiration from the documentary "Not In My Backyard." The documentary takes viewers into battered women and children shelters across America. Throughout the voyage, you see the reality of these women, teens, and children who seek survival in a country that ignores this epidemic. This is the first time cameras were allowed in the shelters, let alone the underground shelters. Producer and Human Activist Jacquelyn Aluotto produces the documentary, not only to expose the truth, but to give 100 percent of the proceeds to save these shelters. The movement is headstrong with celebrities, activists, communities and artists across the nation. Famous actor Luis Guzman is a spokesperson for the "Not In My Backyard" documentary.

24th Annual Chocolate FestivalFebruary 24 Cross country ski, snowshoe, or drive between participating trailside businesses to enjoy chocolate treats. More chocolate and special offers await at other area businesses. Join us for the "Sweetest Day on the Trails", perhaps the only day when chocolate indulgence is guilt free. Visit trailside lodging properties and businesses and enjoy a special chocolate treat, meet the owners, and browse their business. Visit every trailside stop and enter a drawing for a $200 gift certificate to be used at any of these businesses. A complimentary shuttle will circulate from 1 - 5pm to provide assistance when needed! A full day trail pass is included in the Festival Pass along with hopefully more chocolate than one can eat! Settle into your chair in the dining room to enjoy a chocolate fondue served with fresh fruit, be sure to add strawberries to top a homemade brownie sundae served with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge, and be sure to sample all of the handmade chocolates you'll find. Some lodging properties will also give you a gift certifcate for a special offer to return for a stay. This is a fundraiser for the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation. Festival passes, including a full day trail pass, are $30 when purchased in advance and $35 when purchased the day of the event.
