Local, fresh and delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner

Summer

Mt. Washington Valley: where every bite is comforting and every brew is made with passion

Summers in the Valley are a colorful montage of sensory experiences: the sight of majestic mountains, the sound of rushing rivers, and of course, the taste of delicious food! Spend a day sampling the Valley’s local flavors at some of our favorite hotspots for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Prisicilla’s Country Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant that serves breakfast all day.

Early Bird Delights

Start your day right with a delectable breakfast from one of our local eateries. Soak in the early morning sun on the patio at Sweet Maple Café or The Barn Restaurant at Merrill Farm Inn. Stop by Priscilla’s Country Kitchen, where you can order fresh-squeezed orange juice every day, as well as all the breakfast classics. Or, if you’re craving a fresh bagel with all your favorite toppings, make sure to pay a visit to Bagels Plus.

Moat Mountain Brewing Company offers a regular selection of beer year-round, as well as seasonal and limited-edition specialty batches.

A Savory Midday Break

After a morning of adventuring in the Valley, replenish your energy with a mouthwateringly satisfying lunch. For sandwiches and hamburgers containing a range of your favorite flavors, check out the award-winning J-Town Deli and Wicked Fresh Craft Burgers—the latter of which was featured on Food Network’s Chopped.

Delaney’s Hole in the Wall is another perfect choice, famous throughout town for its outstanding sushi and sandwiches. We also recommend going to Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co., where you can order a savory burger (among several other options) or delicious smoked meats to pair with a local craft beer.

Elevated Dining in the Valley

At the end of a busy day, there’s nothing better than treating yourself to a dinner that’s—not merely tasty—but a kaleidoscope of nuanced flavors.

Thompson House Eatery’s Chef Jeff uses his artistic skills to cook creative dishes, all made from the finest local ingredients. The Notch Grille specializes in North Country comfort foods, prepared with their own signature flare, as well as a variety of cocktails made with Notch Grille’s private label vodka from Tamworth Distilling.

Another incredible dining option is Wild Rose Restaurant at Stonehurst Manor, known for providing the freshest seafood from Maine’s coast and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain vistas. Lastly, The Inn at Thorn Hill’s rotating menu is built around seasonally fresh ingredients, with each dish meticulously crafted to change the way you appreciate food.

No matter where you choose to go, you’re guaranteed a culinary experience made to comfort.

Cathedral Ledge Distillery offers tasting flights of up to five spirits and handcrafted cocktails.

A Valley of Hops and Malts

Round out your dining tour of the Valley by sampling from our myriad of beverage options. The Valley is full of breweries and distilleries that craft brews and spirits with passion, so each spot has a unique vibe and flavors that speak directly to the region we all love so much. And be sure to take a look at their event calendars, which are always full of live shows, games and activities.

Schedule a tasting at White Mountain Winery, where you can sip on an assortment of red, white and fruit-flavored wines. For a cold beer on tap, stop by Saco River Brewing. To try spirits and artisan craft cocktails from local distilleries, make sure to check out Tamworth Distillery and Cathedral Ledge Distillery.
