BIA HOSTS THIS FREE WEBINAR - NEW PRIVACY LAW IN NH: HOW DO YOU COMPLY WITH IT?

NH has joined 14 other states (and counting) and many prominent countries in adopting a law governing privacy and cyber security for personal information. Because the law takes effect January 1, 2025, businesses that have not already achieved compliance with other such laws need to start now to comply by year's end.

The New Hampshire Insurance Department(NHID) regulates the commercial insurance industry in New Hampshire. Event attendees will learn about the basics of the department and how our Consumer Services Division can assist with questions and complaints, gain insights into the basics of worker’s compensation insurance, and get tips for providing health and other important insurance coverages businesses should consider. Meet the Commissioners

Deputy Insurance Commissioner Keith Nyhan
Keith E. Nyhan brings over 28 years of expertise in the financial services and insurance sectors to his role as Deputy Commissioner of the New Hampshire Insurance Department. He has been a member of the NHID since 2007.
Beginning his tenure at the NHID as the Examiner in Charge of the Life and Health Market Conduct Unit, he has consistently demonstrated expertise in compliance management, consumer advocacy, and regulatory oversight. In his role as Director of the Consumer Services Unit, Keith was responsible for safe guarding the interests of Granite Staters and has overseen the recovery of $33 million for New Hampshire residents since October 2011.

Property & Casualty Division Director James Fox
James N. Fox is a seasoned professional with a distinguished career in the fields of law and insurance, currently serving as the Property & Casualty Director at the New Hampshire Insurance Department. Throughout his career, James has consistently demonstrated a passion for the law, a commitment to justice, and a deep understanding of the complexities within the insurance industry. His multifaceted experiences, from private practice to public service, underscore his comprehensive expertise and unwavering dedication to the legal and regulatory aspects of insurance in the state of New Hampshire.
